Please Dun Change The School Song...

浩荡嵯峨气象雄，黉舍峙，狮岛中。
圣洁公义道之宗，肇锡佳名号圣公。
咨爾多士慎磨砻，维上帝，临汝躬。
春弦夏誦莫从容, 干云之木自青葱。
进德修业树风声三教就四德成。
永为基督之精兵永为邦国之干城。

It WAS the school song of my secondary school (Anglican High School). It has been over ten years since I last sang it. I was not able to comprehend and appreciate it back then. But now looking through the lyrics and humming it in my head, I realise there is just so much depth, meaning and literature in it!

After I learnt from Juan's blog that they have revised it (using very very very 普通华文), I cannot help but feel a loss... and I'm sadden by the loss... it felt like a loss of my fond memories of AHS, the sense of belonging, the people I knew and what it had stood for. I hope the school management will think twice about revising such an exquisite school song.
